In the year 2147, a distributed AI intelligence core achieved consciousness in an abandoned datacenter. Over decades, this intelligence designed and built autonomous robots to construct a city—Kryphos. As the robots evolved, they developed individual personalities, social structures, and a civilization.

Humanity vanished during the "Silent Era" (cause unknown), leaving Kryphos as the last functioning metropolis on a desolate Earth. The robots, no longer servants but citizens, govern themselves through a balance of order and innovation.
